My Favorite Summer Lipsticks

I adore my bright lipsticks, just like my aunt according to my mother. However, she's crazy so what does she know! :D (I love you really mommy)

The first is Coral Queen, by Rimmel London: £6.29

"Lips feel up to 70% more hydrated and up to 60% smoother! SPF 20, Vitamins A, C and E for protected lips."
Now I really do think it is very hydrating, and good for darker skin tones (I am a Barcelona in Nars Sheer Glow, and a 10 in Illamasqua's Skin Base Foundation). It is SO difficult to find a good pink that fits my skin tone. It glides on well, but the lasting power isn't all that great on me, but this may be because I lick and chew my lips regularly - by way of habit.

The second is Nars' ManHunt: £18.50
"A beautifully sheer formula infused with ingredients to improve the condition of the lips. Sheer, long lasting colour pigments have been suspended in this translucent formula to provide a sophisticated shine."
This is a Sheer Lipstick, but can be built up well. This the perfect red for me and I have gotten my wear out of it. Nearly finished it, and I think its only been a couple of months since I bought it -This is my go-to colour all through out the year.

Thirdly, is another Nars lipstick, Heat Wave: £18.50
"A modern semi-matte lipstick that provides full-bodied, velvety colour in a highly pigmented and non-drying formula."
Now, this is a Semi-Matte colour, and is more orange toned than Manhunt. It is fine to wear on its own, as long as I blend it in well with my fingers. This was part of my birthday makeup haul, and was completely on impulse because I saw the girl on the makeup counter had it on and it was just gorgeous!

Lastly, is one of my very few Mac products, So Chaud Matte Lipstick: £14
"Colour Plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street!"
Now this was a daring buy, this is full on orange AND matte. I have to wear a lip-balm underneath this if I don't wanna look like a dried up prune. I do however, still love this colour, and its perfect for summer!

(Please ignore the terribly dry condition that my lips are in, they been bad for a couple days, and on top of the my rabbit bit me when I was kissing him goodbye earlier. Story of my life!)

(Now I know that Heatwave and So Chaud looks very similar in these photos, but So Chaud
is a orange whereas Heat wave is orange-red.)

Hope you've found this useful! Go out there and experiment with colours!

Much love,
Nigar
