DIY Face Masks: Yoghurt Mask

I am not sure what's up with this weather but it's been giving me really bad hayfever like never before. I could deal with the sneezing and running nose but oh my eyes have been so affected this year. Not only that, it's also made my skin feel really dehydrated. This week I was going to post the recipe for my most favourite face mask ever but my skin needed some hydration so I'm doing the yoghurt mask instead. Now I don't know how or why this works, but it does. It also helps to calm skin redness while providing moisture (much needed for me right now).

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon Oats
1 tablespoon Yoghurt
1 teaspoon Honey
A bowl and a spoon

1. Add yoghurt + honey to the oats

2. Mix well

3. Apply to washed face with hands

4. Leave for about 20-30 mins
Yes you will look like you have baby puke on your face :)

5. Wash and apply moisturiser as usual (I apply a facial oil as I'm not planning on going out so using this time to oil myself from head to toe)

This makes enough for 2 uses/2 faces

I don't understand people who apply face masks with a brush, what are you doing with your hands that they're so dirty that you can't touch your face with it?!

*FYI: Do not do this if you're allergic to any of the ingredients, and store any left overs in the fridge.

    1. I have really normal skin (a bit dehydrated and weird right now due to allergies) so I couldn't comment on how it works on oily skin. Is oily your skin type? Maybe you could try it and report back (i'll update the post when you give feedback if that's ok with you?)

  2. Kayennat, my skin is not really oily. I think it's combination- so basically kind of oily in the summers and monsoons, and dry in the winters. And my skin is sensitive.

    1. You welcome Preeti, Keep an eye out for my neem based face mask which will be up sometimes this week, I don't have acne prone skin but it does help to prevent breakouts and keep complexion clear and glowing.

    2. I have acne scars, and the best thing I've found is to just scrub. It removes the dead skin cells and encourages new growth - which will drastically lighten the scars. The only thing is that it takes time. Patience is the the key here!
