WELLNESS DIARIES: A few Detox days: Day 1

Was feeling a bit sluggish so decided to do something about it. I wasn't in the mood to juice exclusively so chose to mix it up a little bit. I started on Wednesday night; had a detox tea and did a detox wrap.

Detox wrap:
Coconut Oil
Castor Oil
Epsom salt
an essential oil (I love lemon)

Mix in a bowl, rub onto your abdominal area and wrap yourself with cling film/saran wrap. Go lie down with a hot water bottle. This is really messy, so do stand in your shower/bath tub otherwise you will drop salt all over the floor like I did....but you will wake up FEELING very skinny.

detox tea

The next day I started off the day another detox tea and a beetroot, apple, carrot juice.

For a snack I had a spoon of bee pollen drizzled with coconut oil. This is something new I've tried and it was a very weird texture. Not bad tasting but "different". Bee pollen is high in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and protein. I picked mine up the Neal's Yard shop. If there's one by you I recommend a visit. A great apothecary style store.

Lunch was a green smoothie: Mango and orange juice, spinach and kale.

Mid afternoon Juice: Kale, spinach, pineapple, cucumber, broccoli, green apple. A very nice combination. I've been looking for a green juice recipe for ages and finally found one that I like.

Followed by a green tea chai, this is a very nice green tea; as nice as they can get lol. Green tea tastes like pond water if you've not had one and wondered. I only bear with it because of it's antioxidant properties.

Felt like eating so had some grapes, followed by an orange.

Dinner was a spicy baby leaf salad, with cucumber and green apple and Tiger prawns marinated in garlic and parsley. A really nice meal! I've only had this twice but it's definitely one of my favourite meals. Great to put together when you have no time.

That was it for the end of day 1. I did have some boiled peanuts (you'd understand if you're Mauritian), and one can of Coke (my arch nemesis, but makes me feel oh so good).

Ending it with a shot from the bunny. Day 2 up tomorrow
