I love Bourjois's Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks. Love love love.
So when I saw that they had a new laque out I immediately bought three. Yay for boots 3 for 2 offers.
I'm very split between these. I don't know whether I like, not love, or dislike them. After the Velvet lipsticks I expected so much more, but then again they aren't matte, they do have the word aqua in the title, and I did try them on the back of my hand before I bought them. Before going into any more details, here are my quick pro's and con's.
-> Love the colours. Viens Si Tu Roses (4.) is such a gorgeous colour
-> The shine they leave is really refreshing
-> There isn't that gloopy and sticky consistency of a lipgloss, while it could pass off as a lipgloss
-> The consistency is too watery for my liking
-> Not long lasting at all.
-> Not very pigmented
-> Very transferable
Now, on the packaging it says 'Lightweight texture, fresh feel, 10hr hold & hydration".
I agree with the lightweight and fresh feel, but defo not on the 10hr hold. Whose lips did it stay on for 10 hours. A dolls'? I'm not even sure it stayed on an hour without having to redo it.
I'm a lip biter. So there's no chance it'd last anywhere near 10 hours on my lips.
Also, if your lips are pigmented then one layer will just not do. You'll need at least 2. I have what I would say are very pigmented lips, so getting a lip colour to look like what it should can often take 2 or 3 layers of said lip product.
If you're buying these online, then check for swatches on people first. The colours that were shown on the feel unique website were so off.
On the whole, I'm not absolutely disappointed in these because I like the colours, and I don't care about having to reapply in public, but if you're looking for a no fuss lipstick, this is not it.
I don't think I'm going to buy any other colours, but I will probably wear these again, so they wouldn't be a waste of money. Maybe layering it on top of another lipstick, or lip liner would work well.
