NOTD | Plastic Wrap Nails

Plastic wrap. Or cling film as we call it here in the home of the English Language is a great invention. Usable for all types of things. Covering food. Covering paint brushes so they don't dry out. Smudging your nail polish for a messy look. Great stuff.

Here's my take of plastic wrap nails. It looks very marbled/water coloured. LOVE IT.

I love the colours royal blue and white together. It gives off such a regal feel. And I am a princess. Have a tiara and everything. So I knew exactly what polishes (out of our collection of around 200) I wanted. 

This is a really easy look, but can get messy as you're smudging polishes, so its best to protect the skin around your nails. You can use tape or liquid latex around the nails as to minimise the clean up you'll have to do. 

The Polishes

So I used 6 products on thy nails to achieve this. Could have done without the lighter blue, but it gave the nails a nice shimmer that doesn't show up. 

Base Coat - Glisten & Glow Stuck on Blu

Liquid Latex for Nails - 

Base Colour - Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Sure Thing 

Blue - Sinful Colors in Cinderella and Models Own in Inky Blue

Top Coat - Glisten & Glow H K Girl 

Method

Base Coat - need to protect those nails. Plus the polishes go on so much more smoothly after.

White Base colour - I cleaned up the edges as I went along. Let dry completely. I wait around 10 minutes. One coat is enough.

Liquid Latex - Protect your skin and minimise clean up.

Dab a few drops of your chosen colour on top of your nails.

Put the cling film on top. Better the cling film is slightly scrunched. I cut little pieces out before I started to make my life easier.

And take off. You end up with a beautiful mess like this.

Simply peel off the latex, I used some tweezers to pull it, it came off like a dream. I cleaned up the areas I hadn't put the latex, and when I get it on my hand from handling the cling film. Finish off with a top coat.
